About Us
Thank you for joining us. This site is for
the Social and Ballroom Dance Community. Information is power.
But it's sometimes difficult to find what you need quickly on the web.
We are continually updating the site to make information about Social and
Ballroom Dance more accessible. We also give you full information about the
dance learning opportunities at BlueRidge Ballroom: who we are, and what
what we think makes us special. Before you leave, we encourage you to
check out the links page to see what else is out there. Look for places to
dance, places to buy clothes, ballroom dance art, competitions, ballroom
dance magazines and more. And please, let us know if there is additional
information you would like to see on the site. Welcome to Social and
Ballroom Dancing.

So What Do You Wear to Dance Class?
You want to learn to
dance in the kind of clothes you would go out dancing in. Dress up, not down.
Ladies will want to wear skirts or nice slacks they can move in. Gentlemen will
prefer nice slacks and a shirt with collar. Ties are not required. Jeans and T's
are not appropriate. Shoes are important. You want a shoe that will not stick to
the floor when you do the twist on your kitchen tiles. Tennis shoes do not turn
well. Flats are OK for women to start with. Boat shoes often work well for men.
Please call if your have any questions we can help you with.
